I haven't updated lately, but we have been doing some work around the house. Thomas has finished a lot of electrical and we finished a room upstairs. It was previously the dog room because it was only 3/4 finished with laminate flooring and the rest of the room had exposed subfloor. This room was originally part of the attic, so it didn't have the original wood floors like the rest of the house, so we decided to rip out what was there and put new stuff down. It also did not have the original woodwork, so we purchased new baseboards and trim for around the window and doors.  Not the best picture (from Instagram), but it gives you an idea. We painted the walls with Sherwin Williams Twilight Gray (I'm pretty sure...)  Here is a picture with the baseboards. They are definitely not as tall as the original ones, but this is a room we don't use much. We just wanted it to be finished and usable.  This room is now an office for Thomas to do his computer work

Fall 2012

The past month or so has been pretty slow around the Bois Bungalow. We haven't completed very many tasks and I am hoping things will pick up around here soon. My goal is to get working on the woodwork soon... Kill me now! lol We have been spending a lot of time with the dogs at the park and having fun with our friends. Skip this post if you don't want to see lots of pictures of my puppies :)  The porch 'decorated' for fall. We didn't go all out, but I plan on getting a bunch of decorations after Halloween on sale! One of the Halloween parties we went to. We have a lot of fun dressing up.  Khloe with her new Fetching tag.  http://www.fetchingtags.net Couver and Khloe in their car seat. They are the best travelers. I decided to paint the laundry closet one day after work. We got new shelving and made the small space so much more functional. I will have to post 'after' pictures another time.  Khloe Mae at the par
Well, since I last updated... Not a whole lot has changed. We have been spending a lot of time at the park with the dogs in the evenings, so we haven't been so productive around the house.  We decided to create a gallery wall up the stairs. We will continue to add to it over time.  Couver turned 4 :) We had a whimsical watercolor painting done of the house :) Thomas edited it on his computer and added a Canadian flag. We are going to blow it up and print it so we can hang it in the living room.  We spent a lot of time at the dog park... enjoying sunsets.  Another of Couv  Rocky, the little guy we dog sat. He is looking for a new home :( Poor little guy...  We painted one of the rooms upstairs. The walls are Twilight Gray from the Sherwin Williams Arts and Crafts collection. The ceiling peaks where the dormer is and we chose to go with Blue Sky from the Jazz age collection from Sherwin Williams.  The ceiling with one coat.

Painting, Carpet and Kittens

Our most recent projects have included working on one of the rooms upstairs, getting carpet installed on the stairs and bottle feeding kittens. I took in two three week old kittens that were abandoned by their mom and have had to bottle feed them every 4 hours. They have been a lot of work, but will slowly get more independence and be a little less work. We will be finding them their forever homes when they are around 8 weeks. The calico kitten is a female.  The tuxedo is a bob tail and a boy.  They are so tiny... I can't wait to watch them grow up.  Lots of trips to Home Depot and Lowes The carpet padding. We went with the best padding because it has plastic on top that prevents liquids from seeping down.  The carpet installer. Couver modeling the new carpet. It is so nice to walk on... and so much quieter. I never thought I would put in carpet, but it is great!  The carpeting is one of only three projects we have paid someon
Thomas had his work camera the other day, so he decided to take some pictures of the house. Not too much has changed, but it's always nice to have high quality pictures. The bathroom- we still want to replace the vanity, flooring, tub and surround. Still a lot of work left to do, but it's a good start. We replaced the toilet with a more efficient, dual flush toilet, the light fixture and the towel rack and toilet paper holder. I absolutely love the color we chose for in here. It is Sherwin Williams' 'Morris Room Grey'. It doesn't look grey at all to me, but I think it looks great against the stark white of the beadboard. We kept the beadboard that was in here, but put a chunkier top on it. I couldn't be happier with that decision. It was inexpensive and really gave the beadboard more character. Here is a picture of the office. We moved around some furniture and moved in the dresser from Thomas' granny. It's beginning to get a bit cr
