We had the house painted this week!
We hired a professional and it was completely worth not having to do it ourselves. They spent two days prepping the house. They pressure washed, scraped, sanded, caulked, primed and then painted. We chose Sherwin Williams Bunglehouse Blue for the body, white for the trim, Atmospheric for the porch ceiling and Iron Ore for the window and porch floor.
We chose to paint the porch ceiling a haint blue because of the history behind it. We will see if it makes a difference with the amount of bugs.
It is amazing how much of a difference paint can make! Now for the fun part, the pictures.

They finished on Friday and it is still quite shocking to walk out and see a blue house instead of a yellow one. We think the blue makes the house look more historic and less like a cottage.
Next up, we are working on some more fencing. I will post pictures when it is complete. We are excited to get rid of the old fence between the front/back yard and between ourselves and the neighbor.
We will also be ripping out our old patio and eventually pouring a new one with a cobblestone look. We also hope to finish up the woodwork this year along with the floors. So much is going on! I think 2014 is the year of TheBoisBungalow :)

Beautiful! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you! We love it too :) It is so nice having it done. It is amazing what a paint job can do for a house.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! Very beautiful paint selection. Wow! Two days to prep! Maybe we should hire someone to do ours.
ReplyDeleteWe usually do things ourselves, but for this project we figured it would be worth it to get it finished quickly. I am loving the colors we chose. Now we just need to focus on the inside!
